Hi Luc, I love the mirror effect of the water, the reflections are perfect. It is such a shame that the little ones are not in front but that's nature for you - they make up their own minds! Actually I really like the way they are peeking up from behind mum, maybe it was best this way after all. In any case, everything that was under your actual control is excellent and you produced a very beautiful shot :)

Beautiful and artistic shot of this fine feathered family, Luc.
Your composition reminds me of days at the cottage, or beach, in the evening when everyone else has gone home and the quiet that is left in the wake.
Wonderful reflection and water stillness, thank you for sharing this with us.

Strange weather here as well, yesterday we had many mini storms, which lasted for short periods, then proceeded to sunshine, then stormed again. I would say approx. 10 - 12 times in the day.

Bonjour Luc, c'est la pleine saison des canetons ici aussi, et cela fait aussi ma joie. Votre photo est excellente pour plusieurs raisons: le point de vue est parfait, laissant juste apparaître les yeux de ceux qui sont derrière, la surface de l'eau est bien lisse, d'où de superbes reflets, la netteté est excellente (malgré le mouvement et 1/100), la composition donne à ce petit groupe un côté attendrissant, la lumière est superbe! Un grand bravo!

The colours are good and the water being so still is a real bonus.

Yes Luc the weather is weird here in eastern Australia as well. Its supposed to be winter, but a few days a go it was 23 deg C. We are in drought and a lot of the local birdlife has dissapeared.
How do you like your new camera?, the results look pretty good to me.
I notice that the chicks plumage is slightly fuzzy. I took a shot the other of our Pacific Balck Duck, which looks similar to the mallard. I didn't post it because of that fuzzy look. Maybe its just the fluffy feathers they have at theis age!
