Hi All,
If you have been following Evelynn Smith and mine challenge you should know she pulled an ACE out of her sleeve with an incredible capture of a bull moose displaying a touch of aggression. If you haven't seen her image you should go and give it a look.

I know when I'm beat and I have been beaten by a great photographer so I don't have any trouble throwing the white flag. I tip my hat to you Evelynn and pass this bull just sprouting his new antlers as my small entry.

Hi Rick,
that sure is some small entry, what would he weigh 800 or 900 pounds or more.I like your white flag and how you have captured him well with a sharp focus giving us good detail in the early spring time. The only thing I think that could be done differently for this upload would to have shown just a little more of the foreground for the sake of his feet, assuming that they are in the full sized image that is.A fine fellow and an animal I have seen numerous times in the wild myself, but never with a camera. Thanks for giving us "I Know When I'm Beat" a fine addition for TN and the world. Bob

Hello Rick

This is a beautiful capture of one of the giants of the northern forests.
Excellent sharpness and detail, the fur texture shows well.
Nicely placed in the frame and a good clear view.
The antler protrusions are cool.
Very good POV.
You are not beaten ...we are all winners! We were treated to some top notch shots.

Hi Rick,

It was a great contest and you are both winners as photographers! That bull moose was impossible to beat. This is no small entry - it's magnificent. I bet he is proud of his antlers by now. A wonderful face - I especially love the eye. Deep rich colors and fine details of the face and coat. The background is a wonderful contrast to the bull.

Hi Rick, You know what I love about your image... it is that fantastic neutral background that sets off your moose so wonderfully. It almost has a 3-D effect. I like also the busyness of the background and the placement of the moose in the frame. The sharp eye and perfect exposure round out the presentation. Nice work. At least your moose stayed put and posed nicely... much easier on the heart!!!

Allo Rick, that challenge with you and Evelynn was fantastic and what is left to do after the raging bull looking for Evelynn??? We were the lucky ones witnessing the contest and the great pictures that went by... talking about picture, this one is a beautiful one, it's just like a painting, reminds me of Audubon, because of the light background from pale golden herbs to the white and grey birches. The bull against this beautiful tapestry is kingly and superb. Thank you!

Heres two more..I have not seen Ev's yet...You and she are really doing it up. this is a big more interesting the dragonflies....well.....at least it has a sense of danger to it..I think Cathy Meader, when she frist got started walk right up to one...Her image is here somewhere and it isn't her best image but she got this name Moose whispereerere for a bit..

Excellent backdrop as others have said...I would not have changed a thing...except for photographers..I wish it had been me?:-0

Hi Rick,
Es una vista muy bella de ese alce, seguramente no es fácil hacer una foto de una especie esquiva. Me gusta como se ve en ese entorno de áboles y ramas sin hojas
