I meet up with Pekka and Joey today, It was a cold wet dull day so we stayed in the large hide. I must admit my camera did not come out of its bag. But the others got some good pictures which i am sure we will see in time. It was good to meet up with them.
Well i have gone back to last weekend for this Robin from the garden .

Robin ( Erithacus rubecula ) Length 14cm.
The Robin is one of the most familiar and popular garden Birds of all. The Robin is an aggressive species with the males sometimes fighting to the death to defend their territory.
The male and female are almost identical with brown crown, wings, upperparts and tail, a grey band along the sides of the breast, white belly and the famous red breast which is actually a deep orange colour. Juvenile Birds can cause confusion as they lack red in their plumage, being a rather dull spotty brown in colour.
Robins sing all year round, defending summer and winter territories with their fluty melodic song.
The Robin can be found in almost every garden as it is one of the tamest Birds, happily feeding alongside humans as they work. They will often take live food such as Earthworms or Mealworms from the hand.
Breeds from March to August building a cup shaped nest from grass and leaves lined with hair. Lays 4-6 pale blue-white eggs lightly spotted with red and incubates for 13-15 days. The young fledge after 12-14 days. They often have two broods

Hello neighbour Nick,
I think the weather is the same as here in Holland, rain and wet snow, whole day long.
But this photo is great! Wonderful light and very clear colours. The pose, POV, sharp details, DOF and composition are all excellent. The green in fore- and background is very beautiful. What a lovely eye-contact!

Hi Nicholas,
Preciosa imagen, me gusta mucho el intenso colorido de su plumaje, bien contrastado. La nitidez es muy buena y permite apreciar buenos detalles de su plumaje. Una buena foto de una especie popular en TN.

A lovely Robin individual expertly captured in fine focus and exposure among shiny Quercus coccifera (?) leaves Nicholas, TFS this perfectly natural image my friend.

Merhaba Nicholas,gözlerdeki netlik nefis,çok iyi odaklanmışsın.Detaylar ve ışık çok güzel,kuşun güzelliği ise süperr, ellerine sağlık :)

Very well composed my friend...

Hi Nick
A cheery bird for a dull day eh?! ;)
Good detail and well exposed with a nice glint in the eye of the roobin. I'm surprised that with the holly leaves in the picture you didn't save this one until nearer the Yuletide season.
Kind Regards

Hi Nick,
This one of the best pictures I have seen of Robin. Nice pose and POV, very beautiful composition, sharp details and bright natural colours. I especially like the natural suitably blurred BG and the natural frames.

PS It was very nice to meet today. I hope the sun will shine next time.

sharpness and depth of field, absolutely beautiful
vivid colors, lovely catchlight and superb details in the plummage.
well done.

Now tell me the truth Nick...do you have a small flask with you in the hide?:-) Not for Joey of course....but what do I know.....You and your robins....you show them off well whenever and under whatever conditions..

Hello Nicholas
another perfect shot for lovely Robin, which is one of my favourite birds. Sharp details, POV, coloration and POV wonderful as usual. Eyes contact also great. But today, BG (I think daphne leaves) is different from most of them and it supply great contrast. But I like it much. Thanks for sharing, have a nice week.

Very nice color saturation Nicholas,
Excellent sharpness, clarity, & exposure.
Great POV and I like the squared-up comp too :)
Very well done,

Hi Nicholas!

It's a fine thing to meet other TN members, I have made the experience twice. It's enriching and opens the eye for other approaches to nature photography.

Your picture of that Robin is marvellous. As usually, it's well composed and shows rich details. The delightful clarity (piqué) adds to the value of the picture.

Kind regards

Hello Nicholas,

What a beautiful photo of the Robin you have made. There is a very fine light you have captured giving excelent warm colors. There is a fine contrast between the colors of the bird and the nice green leaves. As usualy the imege is extremly sharp showing very good details of the bird.

Thank you for sharing,

Hello Nicholas,
a very fine portrait of this beautiful Robin, it's more
red than ours. You managed to get very good sharpness even for the long shutter speed, but the Robin use to sit still very long, the details are very good.
I like the DOF too, the bird standout well from the BG.
Well done.

Merhaba Nicholas,

Very good one again Nicholas, very sharp, perfect exposure and beautiful! Congrats!

Hi Nick,
it sure is plain to see why this little bird would be a popular garden bird as it has such an innocent look to it and very nice colour. Most birds are quite aggressive and it is no surprise this little guy would be as well, maybe a little to much so,fighting to the death and all.I like the colour and the clean and clear focus this photo has.He is right out in the open for the best view possible. Is that a holly tree or bush that he is perched on, as those leaves remind somewhat of holly?A fine addition to your portfolio of uploaded photos to TN,.thanks for sharing. Bob

Hello Nick,
Thank you for this beautiful image of the Robin once again!
the pose is lovely with those wonderful colour and details

Hello Nick,
Robin and Holly - what a perfect Christmas card! :-)´Great capture showing Robin sharply in focus against a natural background. Fine details and beautiful natural colours too.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hi Nicholas,
Un beau petit oiseau bien cadré. Peut-être juste un peu dommage que la mise au point n'ait pas été faite (sans doute a-t-il bougé!! ;-) ) sur la tête mais plutôt sur le corps.

Hello Nicholas,

I'm completly agree with the fine words of Alexie (Alex99)Specially the 3D effect of the image. The notoes are as usual interesting. Thanks for sharing.

A fine shot. Greeting Bob

Hi Nick,

Hi Nick

What a great shot for Christmas, a robin placed artistically in front of the holly. That must have taken quite a lot of superglue to get him to pose so beautifully :)

Lovely clear, bright colours, lovely setting, sharp details and great POV. Lovely!
