[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a common butterfly that you can find on the fringe of Singapore's nature reserve. The common five ring is a sun loving butterfly and will rest on leaves with their wings opened to absorb the heat.

Hello Shirley,
What a lovely capture of this beautiful butterfly showing excellent sharpness and colours. A very nice composition too. (I wonder in which Nature Reserve you found it?)

Hello Shirley,
a common species but a beautiful and fresh specimen with widely opened wings, just the right posure
to show us its nice upperside wing pattern. This is prsented with high sharpness and from an appropriate point of view.
A brilliant and attractive picture of a not so colourful butterfly species. Thank you for posting it (I like Satyrinae)!
Best wishes, Peter

Hi Shirley,
such a sharp shot of this "Five Ring".
Great presentation with its wings spread out wide.
The leaves are a bit bright.
I often have the same problem, but don't know what to do about it. : P
But I have to ask: Why is this butterfly called a "Five Ring" when I see six big rings and two tiny ones at the bottom of the hind wings?
Do you know?
TFS. : )
