[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today I am posting a picture of a cardon cactus from the desert NW of Argentina. I have tried to find some information about this particlar subspecies, but have not been successful. They are massive cacti and some species grow much larger than Saguarro (look in my Mexico folder - there is a bigger, but less spiney species there).

This is the "Classic" cactus...the ones which is almost archetypal in everyone's mind even down to the graphic artists and cartoonist..and the back lighting works for you...

Hi Neighbor,

Now these look very familiar to me! They are quite similar to our Sagguaros. I like the vertical composition wirh the mountains behind the big cactus.

A very beautiful shot, definitely not uncommon, but still holds its own! The POV is again not very different, but something makes this shot stand out...A classic, yes it is!
Respect, my friend James!

Hello James

All I have to do is look at cacti and I can get pricked.LOL.
I would hate to go near one of these giants.
This is wonderful, well composed and exposed.
The details are sharp with lovely colour.
I still say it would be easier to ask you where you haven't been ,that list would be shorter than where you have been.
TFS

These are giant cacti, James.
The picture also shows us the habitat in which they grow in Argentina. The depth of view is great in this image.
TFS and regards.
