Yes, your experiment is worth watching, great place. Pleasing colors and shapes all over. however, the foreground looks bit soft, is it because of the merging, I have no idea, but fine image. tfs.

Hello Horia !
Wow, amazing - really ! I cannot say what I like most on this picture : soft texture of the water, moss-covered stones, the shape of the rocks, the very natural colors, the perfect composition, the POV - everythins is just wonderful. Very well done, and I hope to see many more like this from your trip to England ! :-)

My wife is still asleep but I will be showing her this one. You have composed a nice blend of nature and g4eology. I have no idea of the layering effect here...Wonderful image Horia...Sorry for my snow days absence!

Great photo with different impressive places. The shapes of the rocks, the cave and the rocks covered with moss are all eye-catchers. And these all in a fantastic composition and very beautiful natural colours. Wonderful photo.

This is so beautiful.
The luminosity of the shot came through in the thumbnail,
and I just had to click on it. : )
What amazing rock strata you were able to show us here.
But I love the moss-covered rocks. The haphazard green patches give it a riotous look, a theme that is picked up by the small eddies / waves in the cove.
The cave adds depth (physical and symbolic) and mystery to the picture.
TFS. : )

This is really nice Horia. I love all the textures, patterns and limited palette of color. It is a wonderful stitched image. I have been doing more almost square images and like them. It is a wonderful photo.

What a great result, it looks fantastic to me, the eye is led from cave following the green rocks in the forground around teh water and up through the strata to the fence. A perfect composition.
I hope you and your family have a safe and happy festive season.

I am not huge fan of the square format because I often find it hard to find a good focal point. But, I can appreciate the experiment a lot. It certainly helped you to get that feel of an UWA lens.
The location is certainly an impressive one. When I saw the first photo of it (by Paul) I was stunned by how beautiful it looked. So its great to see another photo and from a different POV. I am certain that you had a blast walking around this location.
Your stitch is really perfect, there is no way I can tell where the seam of the two photos runs and that considering the movement of the water. I also like you composition with the wonderful colors and details in the FG, the movement of the water in the MG and the wonderful shapes of the rock in the back. But I can't help to think that the sharpness in that rock is as good as it could be. The light and colors look wonderful and I think that the overcast helped out a lot on getting the slower shutter and the shadeless composition.

Wow! What an impressive result using 2 pictures and the Vertorama software! There is a lot of interesting details within this picture (the rock strata, the dark cave, the water movement, and the nice green colors of the moss on the rocks. Maybe I would have removed the fence to keep the scene more natural but it is question of choice.
Very good work, Horia!!!

This is a very cool shot, I love the colours in the shot. The curves on the rocks in the back really add an interesting effect to the shot.

You have realized a very good stitch and I like the square format. I remembers me my Pentax 6x7...
The rock formations are superb and the look like Flysch. The foreground is very detailed and leads us into the picture. I also like the natural colours created by the indirect light. Maybe the fence is a little disturbing element, but if you want to catch this beautiful spot there's no other choice. Here the question is allowed if it would be ok to remove it...
I would like to wish you all the best for the new year!

I've seen this spot posted on TN before by others.
I remember the unique rock strata that shows the geological forces at work here..
I agree, the detailed FG with its moss covered rocks makes the shot "fly".
Excellent job, thanx for the info on how you did this my friend :)

I know I am repeating myself, but I want to say the same to you as well as I've just said to some other members, "I am trying my best to catch the last bit of Christmas 2008 and with time running out at a drastic rate I have to push to get this one in before the final bell tolls".
Wow, what impressive and magic scenery. It's got everything; amazing technical manoeuvres to attain the final image and the unspoiled beauty represented by nearly all the natural elements earth, water and air – we only miss fire. The amazing greener-than-green moss covering of the rocks, the timed exposure showing the effect of the flowing water, the mystery of the unknown as suggested by the opening to the cave on the right, visions of the past as demonstrated by the amazing geological activity frozen in the rock strata in the BG, and finally the glorious effect of light that fills the image all added to give this shot remarkable visual impact. One experiment you can be exceedingly proud of and utterly satisfied with. Superb work.
Very well done MF and TFS.
PS. More importantly, I want to thank you for the wonderful friendship you extended to me in the past. Also, I want to wish you and your loved ones a joyous Christmas and a wonderful New Year. May this Christ-fest and the imminent 2009 bring you everything that is beautiful and admirable, provide all your needs with blissful abundance, present you with that which is edifying and inspiring, grant you blessed peace and harmony, and bestow upon you a myriad of worthwhile pleasures and breathtaking moments with close friends and dear family.

A new word for me...a vertorama...
It's bit visible in the middle. Beautiful vista. I was thinking about Harry Potter somehow. The place has something magic...
Well done and a Happy 2009, dear friend.

I recognise this place! Stair hole. im due another visit here soon i reckon.
Nice composition with perfect dof.
Ive not heard of a vertorama before but it has worked very nicely and also kind of decribes the colour of the photo too with the bright greens of those slippery rocks.
all the best

Very good stitching job, I can barely tell except that you gave it away. Anyhow, I like it very much, it really give an overall impression of the area with its beautiful features. Beautiful rocks with all the algea so bright and vivid in color, Good details with good clarity and sharpness. Beautiful color and light, the square format work out just fine in this case. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and If I don't write you between now and than Have a Happy New Year too.
