Ardea herodias, the Great Blue Heron is a large majestic bird. Measuring up to 54 inches in height and a wingspan up to 79 inches.
This guy was found at Englewood Beach, Florida. They live throughout the western hemisphere, even including Alaska in the summertime. |

Nice composition, specially with the moon which add a special feel to the image. I suspect it was take with already dim lighting which may explain the lack of contast and the gain in the image. TFS

Even considering already mentioned lack of contrast, and probably your having to crop the original shot to somehow zooming on the subject, its very well composed

Nice perspective on an interesting subject.
He looks like he's wrapped in a cloak, perhaps to guard against a chill evening air.
I wonder what it would have looked like could we see what he's standing on?
