Another dragonfly, this time resting on a rock. I suppose it's true for other countries too, but many of the species of dragonfly in Japan like to sit on top of pointy objects like the tips of branches, garden stakes and so on. This is especially true late in the afternoon. A dragonfly came into the classroom the other day and several children held a finger up to try to get it to settle there.
If they get scared away from their resting place, they'll often return to the same spot (as this one did). I like the shadow of the wing on the rock.

Nice shot David, I especially like the colours on the rock cast by the bands in the Dragonfly's wings. Original shot, very well done.
Very nice david, it looks like a type of Darter both from its build and the way it is sitting on this piece of white granite trying to keep warm.it should possible to identiefy this from web images.
Good image especially as you have done nothing to it, I hope you dont mind but i did some work to reveal some hidden details.
Very nice capture. I love the print of the wings on the rock, nice touch. Thanx for sharing.
