Hello Evelynn
The dogwood seems to be giving the crystal ice a rose hue.Very subtle but beautiful.
A natural masterpiece.I am glad that the branches are capable of supporting the weight without breaking or bending.
A lovely composition.
I figure ice storms are a bit like performance art.You must catch the masterpieces like this before it is gone forever.

Hi Evelynn,
While ice storms cause damage and disruption, they also can bring beauty as this excellent image documents. The green leaves on the bush in the background look strangely out of place, but adds wonderful contrast to the image. Seasons greetings to you and yours my friend.

Hi Evelynn
Elle and NatGeo all in the same post? How cool is that! :)) I enjoyed your very nice and original title+note as well as the beautiful shot here!
We don't have freezing rains here at all so it's interesting for me to watch what such phenomena can produce.
And this is a perfect result for a nice abstract photo!
I love the texture here and the mosaic it creates in such a compact composition.
The only nit here that i can think of is the small DOF...but i'm guessing you didn't have a tripod and since the rather long shutter speed for a handheld...well :)
But, even so, i think this is a great idea and result.
Bravo and TFS

It is a well pictured photo (?redundant) of something I used to have fun with back in the 70's in Ohio..not sure why....scary if your in the wrong place at the wrong time....Not sure what damage it does to natural things tho...well described of course..and something with which i am very familair from ages ago...it happns here too but not quite this way!

Hello Evelynn,
Love the composition and the greenery in the BG. which helps to bring out the lovely light illuminating the ice formations.
This happens occasionally here in the winter when the conditions are just right. I always marvel when the trees and bushes are adorned in such a beautiful way. TFS.

Hello Eveline,
What a fine image you have captured with this plant covered by ice. It has such a fine pattern and makes a fine contrast with the green leaves from the background.
Thank you for sharing,

hi Evelyn
Very nice icy artwork created by nature and a scene which always captivates attention. Such a great display of white crystalline needles.
Amazing scene of winter.

Hi Evelynn,
That pink color is really amazing. its very interesting to see how the ice has been colored by the red twigs of the doogwood. It looks like the ice rain came very sudden, the leaves in the BG still look in such good shape.
TFS,
Niek
