Hi friends,

Happy New Year to all of you! I wish you all only hte best for 2009 :)

As most of your from the Northern Hemisphere are posting winter-theme photos, i, too, tried to go our today and take some nice landscape shots, especially since it snowed here nicely the past two days.
Everything was good and set, one of my friends was willing to take me to some mountains not too far away, the sky was blue and beautiful etc.

...and then we had a flat tyre...

And since the spare one was one of those thin ones that you can't really use for mountain roads, we came back to the city and had to fix that...so no photos :(

Hence, i resorted to one of my many archive shots and this is one from Kimmeridge Bay - taken last year in May, during my England trip. I still smile and think well about my day out on the Dorset coast with Paul Haynes. I hope to meet him and many more of your thins year, too, on our TN meeting :)

You can check out some more photos from my England trip here on my website.

Cheers and better luck than me!

A very nice place. I like the colors, light and the composition. TFS
Best wishes, Carme.

Hi Horia,
seems that's a place where you can relax and find new energy for the work - I love it to be at such lonely places, fresh air around, it's wonderful. Thanks, greetings

Hi Horia
I must say that cliffs in foreground reminded me about the Romanian clifs in Doi Mai.

I like low POV here. Nice composition Great cloudy day
TFS

Hello Horia,
A very fine coastal view from Kimmerdige Bay showing part of the interesting wave-cut platform. Excellent DOF, great sharpness and beautiful colours.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hi Horia,
HAPPY NEW YEAR. A nice capture of this beautiful scenic landscape. Very well composed with lovely colors. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hello Horia
Happy New Year to you and a wise move not to head out on snowy roads with a skinny tyre on one corner of the car!
A shot from the summer is certainly more welcome as it seems we all are having a cold spell at the moment.
I like your framing here with the band of rock leading its way naturally to the headland and lovely moody sky. It shows to me that landscapes do not need to bathed in sunlight to get a very atmospheric result.
All the Best
Billy

Hi Horia. I know this exact spot so well and have sat on the rised rocks many times for a rest. Unfortunatly you did not have the best of weateher . But this did not stop you taking a fine picture. I like the low POV and the detail in the dark clouds. well done TFS.

Hello Horia!

Happy New Year to yo my Friend!

Excellent use of wide lens, great place for some experiments with it. I like grim sky and 'Martian' rocks. Good place to visit with friend from TN I think :-)

Hello Horia !
What a beautiful landscape you show us today, I love those strangr rock formations - or is it sand ? Anyways, it looks fantastic, as well as your composition and your low POV. The dark clouded sky gives the picture a dramatic mood. It is no snow or mountains, but well, it is just as good. I really like it. Very well done !
Valerie.

Hi Horia,

Happy New Year to you also! There seems to be no end to the wonderful rocky shores in England. The wide angle works so well here. There is such deep depth of focus. It's a really nice shot.

Hi, Horia, dear friend.
I also wish you Happy New Year and many new achievements at work and hobbies. Amazing photo of a nicely selected subject for shooting and POV. I also like your landscapes taken with wide angle lens. Superb composition, lovely for me razor sharpness of all details and impressive at high range light and colour palette. Bravo. My friend and TFS.
Alexei.

Hello Horia,

A very beautiful coastal place. Nice structure overthere. The yellow color stone is that maybe sandstone ??
Excellent DOF, great sharpness and beautiful colours.
TFS and all the best wishes for 2009 and I hope for you and your friends. NO MORE FLAT TIRES.

Greetings BOB

Hi Horia,
I'm glad to see some more photos from your from your trip to the UK. You certainly came back with some real stunners. The rock patterns are very beautiful and your composition using the long line is very effective. I actually like the clouds a lot. The suit the mood of the photo pefectly.
TFS,
Niek

P.S. Sorry to read that your planned trip didn't work out.

My Good friend, a very happy new year to you! I have been pretty ill lately, over most of the christmas break in fact...but it is good to be back amongst friends :o)
I remember this moment well, and you have managed to create a great shot on such a poor day merely by using awell thought out composition...a perfect DOF here.
Sorry to hear about your failed mission too..there will be other times i am sure!
All the best to you and your family in 2009 :o)
Paul

Hello Horia!
First of all - ALL THE BEST IN 2009!!! :)

Beautiful panoramic picture with nice colours, good composition and interesting perspective. I like also low POV :)
Greetings from winter Lodz,
Radek

Hi Horia!

Many thanks for your best wishes! I also would like to wish you a happy new year and hope it will be full of good and deep emotions. may all your dreams come true...!

When I saw the thumbnail, I first thought it was one of Paul's picture! It's fine to see how the style of a person can influence on us when this person is present. I tried my first macro pictures in the presence of Dietrich and Anne...

The perspective created here is fabulous, and like the soft colour tones very much. The indirect light produced very natural and pastel colour tones.

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Horia,
A fine 'shorescape' shot with excellent perspective to show the flat rocky shore at Kimmeridge Bay. You show the remarkable ridge of the rock formation well i a fine composition with superb lighting despite the dark cloudy sky.
Thanks my friend, I keep watch for the forum,
Ivan
