[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Summer 2009
The brownness has come early. We see it as we drive the country roads.
The eucalyptus trees, stressed from last summer, have dropped branches to survive the dry and some have died.
Others stand tall on the brown hills defiant of the dry, pleading for more rain. The spring grasses have already been eaten and the remains dried off. The top soil is exposed and is prepared to be swept to new locations by the, hot and strong northern winds when they arrive in the late heat of summer. The sky hints of a cool change that might bring some rain, but that is hopeful. The cycle continues and we think off autumn rains and what winter and spring will do for us later in 2009. Ever hopeful.

A simple compo but undoubtedly a good one.
In addition you provided a beautiful bluish sky.
The overall brightness is a plus as well as the clarity.
Barry...thanks for sharing:)

Would you care for a bit of western Oregon rain???? slosh... slosh.... gurgle... gurgle...

This is an effective, simple asymmetrical but balanced composition, Barry. Three almost always works well as do the three trunks here. I like the way the clump of trees is balanced by the large clouds on the right. Sharpness, exposure and color are all good.

Thanks for sharing : )

Hello Barry !
I like this picture, in great part for the outstanding composition, the hille making a nice curve on top of which are standing three beautiful trees ( even the dead one is beautiful, in its own way). The cloudy sky in the BG looks great, too. Very well done !
Valerie.

Hi Barry,
wonderful to see a summertime photo such as this well composed and sharp picture you have uploaded today.I like the unfussy nature of this shot with the trees and the angle of the slope they are on and best of all for my winter weary eyes is that warm blue sky with those clouds, the colour is wonderful.Care for some -34c temperatures as that is what I woke up to this morning before heading out to work. Thanks for this warm photo,ah summertime and the living is easier. Bob

Summer 2009 sure this be suprising for the people living towards North pole cause they have summer in June and July, for me it was a strange experience when I reach in January 2000 at Western Australia and it was the peak of summer.
About the shot, it is well composed that the right side empty space is covered by beautiful clouds.
Well shot.
regards with Happy New Year.
