Kenyir Lake or Tasik Kenyir as known locally (in Malaysia) is the largest man-made lake in Southeast Asia. 38,000 hectares of lush tropical rainforest were flooded and destroyed all in the name of progress and development... Go figure!
This is what's left of the former towering trees... glory lost!

Interesting colours were filters used? When they flood valleys here they usually harvest the trees first. Native timber is to valuable to was in the bottom of a hydro lake.

A very evocative picture, Ken. It has a very strong visual and emotional impact. That image conveys a deep sense of loss. Congratulations on this poetic rendering of an instance of natural devastation.

Outstanding image!
The colour and composition are extremely well.
Superb shot!
TFS!

Hello Ken

This is a magical shot. Serene yet sad. The colour is amazing. Wonderful work. Thank.

However it is sad, you managed to create a very artistic mood in this place. Beautiful image indeed, congratulations.

Very impressive photo. covers fine with the story. There are lots of similar stories of natural habitats that destroyed, and this frame is a good sample. The colours are also great. did you used sepia filter on PS? TFS.

An incredibly moody artistic shot, great detail and richness here.
Superb composition and lighting.
A winner, well done and thanks for posting.

Stunning! You have made this sad scene into a work of art, Ken. Beautiful scene but I can imagine how extra special it would have looked without the flooding. So sad. What good did it do? If any good!
Apt title too.
