My First Bald Eagle
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|This beautiful bald eagle was just chilling on this fencepost on the side of the road. So still I almost missed it! It continued to sit very still for quite a long time so I could try to capture a lovely portrait of it. I regret I didn't have the proper lens to do it justice, but have done the best I could with my minimal experience and inadequate gear. |
When it flew off, it was to fly around the field behind it with its 2 young juveniles. It was magical to watch. Hope you enjoy.

it sure is a thrill to be able to photo a bald eagle as I know all to well. This is a good first photo to begin with as the colours are accurate and the pose is classic and I see what you mean about your lens as it does look a little soft in the focus,I used to have that same lens and found it to be hard to use as I would of liked .Still this is a great photo and one you will probably remember for a long time to come. That post on the far left could of been cropped out of the image for there is room to have done so.Thank you Penny for sharing and long time no see,all the best to you in this now,new year. I hope my first portrait of a Bald Eagle is as nice. Great detail and clarity in your image.
Congratulations.. It is a good first Penny. Keep on...you're already one good eagle shot ahead of me!

It may be just a tad soft on focus, but I would love to get a shot like this!! Great pose and color in this fine photo!!
I only see eagles once in a while, but it always thrills me whenever I get that opportunity. TFS.
