I'm sure Radomir can ID this beauty and it is a good tribute to him, our Tiger beetle expert. A fine macro of this Tiger Beetle taken from a great dorsal POV with good sharpness and lighting in a pleasing composition on sand.
Thanks for sharing this one,
All the best,

Hello HP, my one stop neighbor. Did you shoot this somewhere in a beach? Very nice with the BG and with the sand it looks so contrast and beautiful. Ganesh

Good image of this bettle, simple yet effective composition and fine viewpoint. The shape and colors (I would rather avoided the flash here). The diagonal position of the bettle is a good idea. tfs.

I feel as though I have been panning for placer gold and found it at the bottom in a large shaped nugget...My first impression upon seeing you insect...it is set off naturally against the sand backdrop. but the golden flaky colour (to my eye) really lightens this up HP!
Then you have some wonderful notes..and already a few onlookers who know a good image when they see one that is a lesson!

A good shot of this Tiger Beetle.
I see that Radomir has identified it as Hypaetha biramosa
I'm always amazed at how fast these beetles can run .... too fast for me to photograph ;)
