Hello Lou,
A very fine macro, not of a grasshopper, but of a Katydid, a relative of the European Bush Crickets. The long antennae distinguish it from the grasshoppers.
Nice sharp capture taken from a fine POV with good lighting to show that this is a female with a very long ovipositior.
Thanks and best wishes,
Ivan

Hello Laurens !
Nice to see the whole grassjopper, I specially like the patterns on his wings, they look like a green leaf. The "tail" is so long, it'sreally impressive. I wonder how you do to find all these wondeful species ! :-) Very well done !
Valerie.

Hello Laurens,
Another excellent shot of this nice species, well comosed.

Hi Laurens,

It's wonderful to see this cricket in its entirety. That is the longest tail I have ever seen! I love the different shades of green and the fine details of the eye and the patterns on the body and wings. A nice pose on the leaf with a good view of the veins.

Jane
