Here's another Robin pic from my garden. This little fellow is now happily using my new feeding station which has several different perches that give nice, creamy backgrounds :-)
Trouble is, the Wood Pigeons like it too and sometimes several fly down and eat nearly all of the seeds I put out for the littler birds, so I have to scare them off! :-)

This was taken with my Sigma 180mm macro lens, so I was lucky this Robin allowed me to get so close! :-)

I hope you like it!

Robin - Erithacus rubecula

Family
Chats and thrushes (Turdidae)

Overview
The UK's favourite bird - with its bright red breast it is familar throughout the year and especially at Christmas! Males and females look identical, and young birds have no red breast and are spotted with golden brown. Robins sing nearly all year round and despite their cute appearance, they are aggressively territorial and are quick to drive away intruders. They will sing at night next to street lights.

Where to see them
Across the UK in woodland, hedgerows, parks and gardens.

When to see them
All year round.

What they eat
Worms, seeds, fruits and insects.

Hi Joe,
your robin is lovely, sitting there so nice and your shot is so sharp and the BG is excellent, green, that's beautiful.
Thanks and greetings

Hello Joe,
Kood...that's new for me? Talking about the camera equipment.:-)
Photo is relevant though and not the tools. Okay:-)
So it's a well composed photo. Good pose.

Very nice portrait of this robin -- good lighting, background, excellent sharpness. Gary

Buena luz y un correcto enfoque Joe. Se agradece que la fotografía esté poco manipulada ya que además le da mucha naturalidad.
Un saludo y buen Domingo: Josep Ignasi

Hello Joe
I do love a good Robin...And this ones a blinder!!
The details are sharp but the 2 items that set it apart from the rest is the robins colourings which you cant control and the BG which you have controlled by setting up your feeders so as to gain the ooo bg...Brilliant capture and foresight.
My hat is tipped accordingly.
All the Best
Billy

Hi Joe.
Great use your wonderful macro lens. Shared shot is excellent. Especially I like impressive X-composition, created by bird and twig. Lighting is very nice and delicate and sharpness/details of the bird image are superb. Shot looks like summer picture. What is so nice, green BG?
