Second part of my Best of 2008 collage. Weather is still awfull, so I decided to take you to another trip into my 2008 archives.

1) Small butterfly from Lycaenidae. Very common butterflies in our meadows. For first look most of them looks similiar. Surprisingly there are many different species around. True beauty of these butterflies is well seen on macro photos from many TN members.

2) Nuthatch - common winter bird here. I like to watch them hunting for nuts or seeds left by humans. Cute birds.

3) One of first flowers of Spring from Anemone family. Most awaited season starts with these flowers growing in forests and parks between brown, dry leaves.

4) A snail :-) This is my first good picture of this animal. To be honest slugs and snails are very hard to photograph. Yes, they're moving very slow, but for some reason most pictures of snails and slugs look blurry. I like these animals.

5) Surprise, surprise - another astronomy picture. The Moon is one of easiest celestial objects to photograph. One need no telescope or another gear to take nice picture of our satellite.

6) Tiger beetle. Most dangerous and fast small predator I've ever seen. They live in sandy, hot areas of Botanic Garden and I just love to observe them during hunting for small insects.

7) And this is biggest fly I've ever seen. Horse fly from Tabanidae family captured during eggs laying. These fly suck blood from mammals and can bite very painfully.

8) As I wrote many times, 2008 was a year of dragon and damselflies. This is one of most beautifull damselflies of Poland - Banded Demoiselle. This specie live around streams and rivers and I was lucky enough to capture this one in Botanic Garden. I saw it there only once this year.

9) Last but not least - a snake. Reptiles are very rare guests in my gallery. Not because I don't like them, I like them very much, but they're rare visitors in my neighbourhood. Grass snake photographed in Botanic Garden again is one and only snake which I captured.

Hi Greg,

A magnificent collage of best ofs. You have such a wonderful variety of subject arranged around the marvelous moon shot. Each picture is excellent with beautiful colors, clarity and composition. Whenever I see a grouping as nice as this I wish I could double-click each one to see it full size. Hope your weather has improved.
