[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Thanks to all of you who kindly critiqued my previous butterfly shots, and special thanks to Peter, who has helped with the ID of a lot of them.

This butterfly came to feed on the leftovers of a bird feeder, atracted by the sweet overly ripe banana, you can see how this butterfly is using its antenae to taste the banana,it must be an interesting feeling to have the sense of taste deatached from the mouth. Sorry to not have Id for this one either!.

Hola Simon,
another beautiful and sharp picture of a Costa Rican butterfly. In this case: Historis odius (family: Nymphalidae).
Also in this species (as in dirce), the upperside wing pattern is quite different.

very interesting species. i like the dark background

Wow, This shows the Anatomy of the species in its best way. Very well composed and and colors are very subdued. Good one .
