This photograph is captured near Leeubron. Photographed not far away from the spot I captured the Kori Bustard I posted yesterday.

Leeubron is situated northwest of Okaukuejo and west of the Etosha pan in Etosha National park, Namibia.
Altitude is 1100m. Capture time: 10:00.

The Burchell’s zebra besides the Hartman’s mountain zebra is one of two zebra species you can spot in Etosha National Park.

In an attempt to play Darwin I cannot observe differences between the Burchell’s zebra in Kruger National Park and Etosha National Park’s Burchell’s zebra. Observation through images. I don’t know whether that’s such a good idea ?

Talking about Darwin…he was born in 1809 and died in 1882. Notice that the first permanent photograph was an image produced in 1825 by the French inventor Nicéphore Niépce.
The Origin of species is published in 1859.

So I did a quick www search with keywords ‘photography’ and ‘Darwin’ and found this daguerreotype(I love daguerrotypes)
Charles and William Darwin
and also some portraits by Julia Margaret Cameron.
What I actually wanted to know is whether he used photography for his observations and stuff??? Photography probably might have been too complex, inefficient and expensive for his kind of work back then?

This zebra remind me of Eeyore, I mean the look and pose are priceless!
On a serious note, I think you've captured this one deep in its thoughts... Looks great. TFS.

Best Regards,

Hello Annick,
I had my day with the Zebra's at that Wildlife Ranch I went to awhile back. Think I was tring to shoot with too small of an aperture many times, so the surroundings came in..
This looks very similar to the setting at the ranch, with the grass greener & thicker.
Anyway, Excellent work :)

hello annick,

Hello Annick,

You have made a fine photo of the zebra and wrote an interesting note about. Image is sharp showing well the animal. You have used in a fine manner the DOF separating the main subject from fore and background.

Thank you for sharing,

Merhaba Dostum,
Tebrik ediyorum.

Hi Annick,

It looks like the same Zebra maybe just a bit cleaner than the average one from Kruger. what definitely is different is the vegetation. Well seen with good detail.
