[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi,

Here's the landscape of Wolf-Neck Valley and the hill (in Bükk mountains, Hungary - a few meters away from the place this photo was shot), after a tornado had gone here at the end of October. The tromba (European version of 'tornado') is very rare, due to the mountain chains on the continent with East - Western direction, which don't allow the direct meeting of tropical and polar air. But sometimes it's arising and destroying.

There was a storm here on TrekNature, too, due to the new Terms of Use. A lot of great photographers have gone, which is a serious loss to us and to TN also, but... the situation's the same as on the pic. Some trees remained, some fell, and the empty space gives the chance to a new generation to emerge... This is the neverending circle of life...

No PP at all except for re-sizing and framing. No sign this time, otherwise the owners of the site wouldn't be able to steal and sell it. :(

Szia László!
Nagyon érdekes és szép táj.
Néhány meleg színek és egyértelmű.
Minden kép szép.
A legjobb és a legtöbb várható.

Hi Baratom Laszlo,
a fine landscape capture with shadows and lighted areas on the snowy ground. It is also a fine document shwing the storm effect on a forest.
TFS and cheers,
Bayram

Hi Laszlo,
What a bleak looking landscape.
I was amazed to read that you get tornado like phenomena there in Hungary (I got it right;).
Its a shame to see so much forest destroyed.
One good thing I guess ... those dead logs will be a good place to find fungi (if they remain there long enough)
In NZ there would probably be lots of people with chainsaws and trailers gathering firewood.
A great shot,and interesting pos.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Laszlo,

Hello my Friend!

Very interesting and scary picture. It looks like taiga after impact of meteor in Tunguska. Sad view, but opportunity for small trees to conquer free space. Very interesting note too - it's very surprising for me that you've got word 'tromba' which sounds exactly like one in Polish.

Hello Laszlo,

A dramatic situation is well depicted!
Amazing to see what heavy wind can do, the landscape almost looks like after a fire...
The atmosphere is well conveyed, fine work my friend!

Greetings,
Pablo -

Hello László

The POV you choose with the foreground's trees
shadows against the blue sky and the light,
it gives atmosphere effect to the photo, TFS
