hello friends, today i want to post a souvenir
photo from the summer of 2006, it is not a
top quality image but for me it has a special
place on my hart this photo, like all my other
bird (and rabbit) photos of the year 2006

photo shot with my very first digital camera,
my Fujifilm FinePix compact camera
that i buyed in early april 2003

take-off of the Wood Ducks

from the Hinterland Who's Who website :

http://www.hww.ca/hww2.asp?cid=7&id=80

« In late summer and early autumn, the young
with their newly acquired powers of flight and
the adults with their recently replaced flight feathers
move in a leisurely way about the northern parts
of their range. Their principal concern is to store
up energy, in the form of fat, in preparation
for the soon-to-come fall migration.

By the first severe frost, usually in late September
or early October in eastern Canada, Wood Ducks
begin to head for the southeastern United States.
Southern populations of Wood Ducks,
particularly females, are less migratory. Populations in
the interior of British Columbia migrate to the
west coast, whereas Wood Ducks that live on
the coast do not migrate at all. »

Merci

Asbed

Hello Asbed,
My neighbor!
Nice lighting in this in-flight capture of two female Wood-ducks. I like the POV, lighting and the colours and they are well seen against the dark water.
Thanks and have a good week,
Ivan

Bonjour Asbed !
Maybe technical quality is not perfect, as you mentioned it, but you also say it has a special value for you, many memories, so it is beautiful in its own way. It is precious to you. I like the composition, and I like the light falling on the ducks. Well done !
Valérie.

Hi Asbed, a fine dynamic capture again from you. Light and composition are wonderful.
TFS and cheers,
Bayram
