Dear Friends,

It was long, really long time (a few days...) passed since I last saw Your beautiful photos. Mostly because of my completely lame day job + as usually, improving the website of our mycological association, plus my family, naturally... Yesterday, fortunately I had some time for a trip in the mountains and came home with many shots, mostly about spring flowers. Very few fungi only, but probably this colony catches Your attention.

The red "parabolic antenna" belongs to the Sarcoscypha coccinea species complex - find my photos (and more info) of these species on TN here and here. This was the bigger fruitbody I ever saw in my life.

The very small and thin whitish fungus is Collybia cirrhata (Microcollybia cirrhata), a saprobic species living mostly on decayed mushroom remains, sometimes on very rotten wood. Too small to be edible. Rare in Hungary. A bit surprising Collybia cirrhata was growing now, it's mostly an autumnal fungus, but our spring's quite warm now (at least the last week was).

With this image I'd like to wish a very Happy Easter to all of You, thanx for Your interest on my work. See You soon, László

Hi Laszlo,
This Sarcoscypha looks really amazing, and I just love those little Collybia too!
Your composition is good and all nice and sharp.
I must get back to my fungi haunts in the next few days too. We're getting right into autumn now.
Those Amanita muscaria are just beginning to poke their heads through my lawn.
In a few weeks there will be 30 or 40 just a few metres in front of me as I sit at my computer....Heaven!
I'll be sure to take lots of pics.
Thanks for showing us these beautiful spring fungi from Hungary :)
Cheers,
Steve

Hello László!

I envy you again :-) Firstly for this great photo full of fungi. Sarcoscypha looks exactly like natural satellite dish with beautifull colours. Small Collybias are also great and made good microforest composition. Great scene and great place! Few last days I spended around Botanic Garden and Zdrowie Park looking for fresh fungi but without any success. I think it is still too early for them - spring was very late this year.
Secondly I envy you meeting with Salamandra - this animal is on my wish list for long time. I've never seen this creature in wild mostly because it lives near mountains and area around my city is very flat :-)

Happy Easter my Friend!

Ciao Laszlo, beautiful composition with splendid Easter fungi, fine details and wonderful sharpness, very well done, Happy Easter, ciao Silvio

Hello Laszlo,

This specimen stands out well between dry leaves and broken branches!
Amazing to see fungus this large so early, as the surroundings still wear the marks of winter...
A well composed presentation with good details!
