[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Friends, I was in Jaipur yesterday in connection with some work and returned from there this evening. Unfortunately, I did not have much time for nature photography there and did only a few shots in the evening in the sprawling garden of a heritage resort one of my students owns in Jaipur. Needless to say, I was putting up in that resort for the night and spent a nice evening there.
The garden of this place has a variety of birds in it, but it is the Peacock that dominates the scene. I took a couple of pictures of it before the light started fading and here is one of them.
Peacock is the national bird of my country, as you already know. It is a highly protected bird and is seen in large numbers in the states of Rajasthan and Haryana.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Ram,

This is most beautiful. I love the colors of the peacock. So poised and elegant. I really like the lighting.

I see what a difficult shot it was for u, to avoid the wall and all.

Hello Ram !
I have always admired these birds, but here in France we can only meet them in captivity - must be great to see them "wild". I really like the pose of thez bird, here, he loks proud and straong, very majestic against the hot blue sky. Nicely composed, with excellent details, great POV. Very well done !

Dear Ram Sir,
Excellent candid shot of this handsome peacock with an extravagant tail feathers. I believe, many of the brilliant colours of the peacock plumage are due to an optical interference phenomenon (Bragg reflection) based on (nearly) periodic nanostructures found in the barbules (fiber-like components) of the feathers causing iridescent hues. How technical they (& He) can be ... !!! TFS
