[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am not a great nature photographer, so I will probably stick to TE/TL and post the occassional picture in TN, so here goes my first try. It doesn't help that I live in the middle of a City - not many Rhino heards charging down the street lately :-)

Near to Paris is the Forest of Rambouillet, this was the old hunting ground of former French aristocracy. As such it is populated by Deer and Wild Boar. To make it easier for the general public to see such animals a game park has been created in the forest (Espace Rambouillet) where it is possible to see some of these animals in their natural habitat without having to trek for miles in search of the animals. Within Espace Rambouillet they also have a Raptor show with birds and the like, as they were an integral part of the hunting party.

This is a picture of an owl which I managed to grab whilst watching the show. The owl landed on a nearby fence and proceeded to watch me struggle as I backed away from it to try and get it in focus (minimum distance on the lens was about 3 metres), I eventually succeeded, but the owl was a bit impatient for me to get the picture. Fortunately, he was a good subject and sat long enough for me to get one or two reasonable pictures. As I said, I am not a great nature photographer, usually the subject is long gone by the time I get the camera to work - I think I'll stick to buildings, much more patient :-)

Sharpened, cropped and framed in PS.

David, if this is what you get when you need to be quick, I cannot wait to see what you come up with if you have the time. An excellent shot. The sharpness is unbelievable. TFS.
