Rufous Collared Kingfisher (Actenoides concretus)
This juvenile male sat quietly for me to take a few photos of it. The photo was taken under full canopy cover and exposure was crucial to give a good balance of fill flash. As can be seen from the settings the whole system was locked down and shutter released with mirror lock up to reduce mirror slap.
This small kingfisher measures approx 22 cm in height and have been observed to sit quietly motionless for long spells which works for me.
