[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is Bullock Creek at Punakaiki once again.
This is further upstream from the cave,and there seems to be a lot more water.
The reason is that it had been raining off and on for a couple of days,and the river was just beginning to back up behind the narrow bits downstream.
A massive catchement area,including mountains,feeds a river which gathers water from side streams and caves as it passes down the valley,to be channelled itself through the caves and narrow clefts in the gorge below.
It is no wonder the river will rise and cover the road after just a few hours of rain.
Its not a good idea to go up here on a very rainy day (like I did)... you might not get out for ages!

What beautiful scenery Steve. The colours are superb and the misty rain makes it look so good. Do you living close to here, or are you much further south?

I love to see captures like this in the rain Steve. Even thou the sky is a washout the scene has good colour and a moody atmosphere. Composition is excellent. Very nice work.

What a wonderful landscape shot, Steve!
The weather there is quite similar to what we are experiencing in BC today, rainy and dull, but who notices or cares when the view is so amazing?
Great composition, details are lovely and sharp, colors are wonderful.

Steve, I must say that I like mist. Your photo shows it in superb way. Misty landscape with mountains and river, high humidity, saturated colours. Great photo of amazing place!
