THE MISCHABEL GROUP

The Mischabel group is a part of the Pennine Alps and located in Valais. It is formed by several high pics, all over 4000m altitude. The main mountains of this group are: Lenzspitze (4294m), Nadelhorn (4327m), and the highest pic Dom (4545) which is also the highest mountain totally on Swiss territory.
In the frontpart we can see well the glacier in front of the Mischabel. We just hope that with the Global warming it will not melt too much.
I have taken the picture from the Moosalp, which is at 2000m altitude.
I'm not a landscape specialist, but always happy to see landscapes from other countries. I think that landscape-photographers have well a place on this site and I'm a little sad to read that they have the feeling that TN isn't a place for that speciality. I really hope that they will stay on this site!

Hi Anne. As you say i was sad to read Paul H may not be posting again for that reason. I too am not much of a landscape photographer but i do know a great picture when i see one. This looks as if it should be mid winter and not June. A very good compostion. I like the patch of blue sky. well done TFS.
Nick..

Hi Anne,

I think that landscapes are just as much part of nature, as are birds, flowers, insects and all things found wild in nature and have a place in TN. I like to see landscapes and especially good ones like this. As Nick said it is a pity that Paul H may not be posting, I enjoy his shots.
This shot has good composition, clarity, colours and detail. Thanks for showing and sharing

Regards Bill

Ciao Anne,
Grazie e complimenti.
Buona serata
Con amicizia
Maurizio

Bonsoir Anne,
Only the sharp lighting tells me that this was not taken in the winter!
A fine view of these impressive alpine peaks in your area and somehow the clouds at the top add a little mystery and interest to this mountainscape. They are over twice as high as the higest peak in Sweden!
Merci et bonne soirée,
Amitiés,
Ivan

Oh Wow, Anne, this is heaven, also heavenly! What a great view. Drop me off at the peak in the upper left corner with skis on my feet and that will be heaven twice over. Takes my breath away.

Very dramatic, Anne. It feels just a bit tight at 115mm, but that seems to bring out the details better. Good job on the expsoure with the snow and clouds as well as black rock.
Mike

You have a fine eye for landscapes too, as this lovely image shows, Anne. You are being modest by saying otherwise in your note.
The point of view is well chosen, covering all the peaks in the group and the higher ones being slightly engulfed by drifting wisps of clouds. The glacier in the foreground is well captured with the crevasses clearly marked out.
The contrasts in the picture make it into a great mountain-scape.
Thanks and regards.
Ram

Bonjour Anne,

Markus

Bonjour Anne,
I missed this beautifully composed landscape image! The atmospheric conditions are perfect to show what an ascention of this glacier and its crevace fields would be like from a distance. A rough and dangerous endevour, one false step and so long.
Excellent detail and lighting here anne,
I, as you, hope that landscapes are a welcoming sight wherever they are chose to be projected, are they not what nature has brought before us?
"From Earth's beginnings these mountain's breath's roar from high above, let us be!"

Hallo Anne
This is a very beautiful landscape and it is a pleasure to look at it. To me it has an atmosphere of spotlessness and purity. It looks so clean and fresh. The snow comes across so smooth, almost as if a container of icing sugar was turned over from the sky and dropped on the mountains. The light is really great and the overall view is stunning.
Best regards
Anna

Liebe Anne,
Peter
