[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
i have found in 2008 the Kermes Oak
and is an evergreen shrub or small tree may grow as tall as 3 to 5 m.but is generally remains lower due to grazing or fire
the leathery leaves, shiny dark green on the upper surface of the blade, are 1,5 to 4cm long, with spiny, undulate margins.
the fruit is an acorn;the cupule is covered with small, patent, almost prickly scales.
the acorns are used as fodder for pigs, goats.
i found this acorn so beautiful so i will show him to you
greeting lou

Hello Lou!

For first look at thumbnail I thought it is some kind of very strange insect :-) Interesting shape of acorn, very new to me. Good quality and composition. Real piece of art from mother nature.

Hi Lou,another top class macro whit a very iteresting specie. The position of the light that you choose is the best for a best result as possible. Thanks for share, have a nice day,LUCIANO.

De esta especie tenemos bastante población por aquí Laurens, incluso yo la he publicado en Tn en alguna ocasión. Sensibilidad al captar el fruto y sus aún delicadas formas en plena fase de formación. Bien encuadrada la bellota.
Saludos: Josep Ignasi.

Hello Lou,

A very unusual and very attractive image. I've never really stopped to look closely at an acorn like this. Excellent sharpness, and perfect color.
