Fresh photo from todays walk in Botanic Garden. Now you know, why I titled this serie - Headhunter. Another busy day in Tiger Beetle's life. Another headless body lies in sand. But not for long. I witnessed all this action - beetle catched its smaller prey and ate it in about 20 seconds. This insect should be main star in gore movies. Catch victim. Firs cut - decapitate. Then eat head. Yummy. Look at headless body with still moving legs. Laugh loud! Grab it! Cut-cut-cut-cut! Eyewink. Who's next?

Bardzo fajny Trzyszcz. I już odgryzł komuś głowę.
Trudno tego owada uchwycić bo strasznie szybko biega.
Kompozycja ostrość bez zarzutu.

Witaj Grzeg,
You're a master of insect macros. Everything's razor sharp except for the closer antenna and maybe the closer eyes, colors are nice, and the idea behind the pic is quite good, supported with an interesting note. Great job, tfs.
Friendly regards, László

Hello Greg,
A fantastic close macro of Cicindela hybrida showing the front of the beetle with excellent sharpness and DOF, the head and jaws looking awesome.
Thanks for posting this and your amusing note.
Have a good week,

Hi and Good Morning MF Greg,

A stunningly great close up capture of a tiger beetle in feeding with immaculate details, sharpness and fine composition.
TFS and have a nice new week MF!

Hi Grzegorz,

Excellent continuation of the sequence of this small predator monster. Excellent macro, with a perfect definition and a light of the flash very well managed.

Hello Grzegorz,
Fantastic close-up of this beautiful and voracious predator, in full action. Very impressive colours and sharpness. Cheers,
P.S. I wonder why it has such metallic bright colours... It is not a really good camouflage.

hello Grzeg
great macro with very good details and super sharpness
beautiful colours
greeting lou

Witam ponownie!
I ponownie trzyszcza tu mamy :) Niezle z nich zarloki, to prawda. Ostatnio prowadzilem mgrke, w ktorej wyszlo, ze sa naprawde niezlymi killerami (nawet wieksze ofiary to nie problem), a i zjesc potrafia, oj potrafia :)
Niezly portrecik, szczegolnie zuwaczki wygladaja imponujaco :)
