[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
The Spider

It is an unknown spider with its preys in its web. If anybody knows its name, he will be very welcome.

Finally, it is Argiope lobata. Many thank's to Cedryck for the help on the determination.

The photography

Photograph taken around 11 hours am, by an exceptionally bright day of August: the lighting was of high purity.

Photograph taken by cons-dive, to get the blue as background (I'm lying in the grass to get there). What we see in the background is the side of the Pic Saint-Loup.

Opening in f/11 focal length 8 mm (objective Finepix close macro mode). Aperture-priority mode, a subject very mobile. Speed 1 / 500 th with a sensitivity equivalent to ISO-400.

The only difficulty of the photograph was to make "white", without crushing the details of the spider.

Hello Philippe,
The spider you pictured is Argiope lobata, one of the tiger spiders. The species is quite common in southern Europe. The animal itself is pictured nicely, however the divided background is too prominent - it would look much better if pictured against the blue sky only.
Best greetings and TFS,
Michal

Bonjour Philippe,

Amicalement,
Catherine
