[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
When I post a "Yellow-headed Fungus " the other day, our experienced nd skillful TN, Mr. Ivan Kruys, suggested whether the fungus will opened up?
So I took the time to revisit the place to see what happened.
It has been raining quite heavily lately especially at night. I came back after two days lapse.
This is what I discovered. The yellow headed is the unopened head. Now that being so soft and brittle, the opened hats were a bit damaged by the rain. They were also being nibbled by ants and other small insects.
It looks like a "children ghost" waving at you.
Thanks Ivan for posing the question and make me in a way to answer the query.
Thanks, I hope the you like the capture.

Hello Foozi,
Thanks! You've answered my question very nicely with this excellent capture of a pair of these fungi looking like they beginning to decompose, but the hats have opened up and in this way they will spread their spores.
The composition, sharpness and use of flash against the dark tree trunk BG are excellent.
My best regards to you,

Slav Foozî,
Very good capture of these interesting fungies with excellent sharp details and great POV.Thanks for sharing.

Hi Foozi,
Not the rain damaged the fruitbodies - this specie, Leucocoprinus birnbaumii lives a very fast and short life, I mean above the ground. Seeing from photographical POV, a wonderful image with great light management (clever use of flash), excellent sharpness and composition. A spectacular masterwork. Bravo MF - what I wrote in the note of the dedication photo is absolutely true: You're better and better photographer with each and every image. Bombastic capture.
Best wishes, László

Very good observation and beautiful image with diagonal formation of this fungi with subtle colors. tfs.

Hi Foozi,

You are becoming a specialist of taking pictures of fungi. The close-up view is showing the details and colors of the spooky-yellow fungi. There is a good contrast between the colors of the tree and of the fungi. Have a nice day.

Hello Foozi
a wonderful shot of this duo, great idea to return at the same place for showing this beautiful fungi with head open, i like the shape of her damaged hats
superb contrast against the dark tree stem
