Hello
Today I want to present something new in my photo collection. Accordnig to "The domino guide to the insects of Britain and Western Europe" it is Small Copper (Lycaena phlaeas).

I have taken this picture on the meadow on the Czarna Woda (Wda) river bank. It is a very beautiful river passing Bory Tucholskie (Tuchola forests in free translation). It is quite natural river with many meanders. The water passes mostly through forests and has quite high river banks. The origin of the name is probably connected with the colour of the water - the river floats mostly in the shadow and the water is very dark and in Polish Czarna Woda means Black Water .

And the last thing concernig the name of the picture. This butterfly was very unpatient and I've spent a lot of time trying to catch it, but finally I've succeded.

Thanks for attention :)

well you did good!
i'm often too slow to reach to catch one...

This one is very pretty. His wing seems so fluffy, due to the back-light, and details are great (i love his eye).
Very nice pic!

Elise

Ania, there is so much detail in this shot that I feel i can touch the computer screen and feel its feathers. Perfectly captured beautiful insect. Way to be patient.

Hejka!
Calkiem niezle wyszlo Ci to makro. Dobry detal, niezla kompozycja i swiatlo. Co prawda jest to motyl (a jak wiadomo - co pewnie Krzys potwierdzi ;> - motyl to nie owad ;>), ale to chyba jedno z Twoich najlepszych fotek makro z owadami jakie na TN widzialem :)
Pozdrawiam,
Radek

Ciao Ania. Even if in shadow you've captured an excellent detail an exalted beautiful natural colours. Well done.

Zgadzam sie z Radkiem Bardzo ladne makro. Co moglbym poradzic to np lekkie lighten shadows w PS. Fotka ma ladna kompozycje, fajne rozmyte tlo i ladnie pokazuje motylka z boku
Podoba mi sie
Pozdrawiam
