Nyphaea alba is a common European water lily, in Israel it reaches its southern range and is very rare. Actually it got extinct, but plants that were saved in the Tel-Aviv University Botanical Gardens were reintroduced in two sites.

In the Iberian Peninsula it passes a thing similar, in Catalonia lives in the communities of Myriophyllo-Nupharetum. A very beautiful picture, like the species.
