Gurudongmar Lake
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is divine Gurudongmar Lake @ North Sikkim. The altitude of this place is around 17800 ft. Its pinching cold there during mid of May with very little oxygen, which really causes breathing trouble. But, once you reach that place, you will realize that, you can take on more trouble to visit that place again !! Its really wonderful place. Little more info, this lake remains completely frozen during the winter season i.e., December to March. During April - June, you will get this colorful view. If you want to experience the frozen view, the best time is to travel by latest mid-March. |

Hi Partha,
Splendid image! Very successful with some beautiful colors. A splendid landscape, a dream.
Have a nice day,
Adrian
Hello Partha,
Welcome to Trek Nature. This is a beautiful if desolate landscape.
The blue black of the sky made me think you must have used a polarizer, but it must be the result of the altitude. Thanks for sharing a vision of this place.
Regards,
Greg

What a bright day you had for your visit to this very high lake. The air looks so clear. Did you use a polarizing filter? It made the sky very dark and also such a different hue from the water. Maybe that lake is fed by glacial streams which could account for that. I might have been tempted to crop some of the darkest part off the top and some off the left side. That may give even more visual grandeur to the snowy peaks. I think the image needs just a slight rotation to the right. The exposure and sharpness look great.
