[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello Friends
After a long time I back with an insect shot, but I know as an old member here that I must write a note about the insects, but what can I say?I'm not perfect about insects knowledges, and I worked as a photographer,my knowledge about insects are not good, and if a bit I know then it become difficult to transfer to English with correct name of the insect and...

But I took it near a sult lake where is located about 90 kilometers south of Tehran,in Qom province.

Qom province has two large salt lakes, namely: Howz e Soltan Lake, which can be seen from the Qom-Tehran freeway, and the larger Namak Lake further to the east. The "Namak" word means "Salt" in Persian language.

anybody help me about the insects here?!
I will be Thankfull.

Best Regards
Mohammad

Thanks a lot Friends, special Thanks to Wendy Torenvliet (Lyanna) for her help.

I searched for Eustenopus villosus and I found some amazing results, but I reached to Larinus curtus , I invite you to see and read here about them.

I learnt a lot from yesterday till now,Thanks again.
----------------------------------------------------
WOWW!...I learnt another thing from Robert Brown (Robbrown) about the name of the flower in the shot, this is Echinop, see here please.
Thanks Robert:)

A good macro, Mohammad.
It's nice to have you back.
Very funny pose, well composed and nice colours.
Very well done.

Hello Mohammad,
Amicalement
Martine

Hi Mohammad, good to see you back ;-))
I think Mogens called a similar capture "Fakir Mating" at some stage. Poor female.. ;-)
I'm not sure, but your beetles ressemble some kind of weevil. Nice POV with oof bg, good sharpness. I wish you could see the heads a bit better, though.

It looks very much like the Eustenopus villosus, a weevil which is used as a biological control for starthisles. The yellow spots could actually be pollen. But ... I am not sure!

Very nice composition, I love the DOF and the colors in this one.

Very nice shot of these weevils doing what nature intended. Good composition and nice details. Great work.

What flower/bud are they resting on?

Hello Mohammad,
Welcome back to TN,its great to see you back here.
Its a great capture.
Excellent composition and details,great DOF.
Superb,well done.

Hi Mohammed,

Very nice of you to drop in like this. :) I am glad you gave us this lovely shot. Its a very nice compostion an the BG is nicely out of focus. Lots of impact and what a moment. One can feel the pain in this capture. :) Very well done.

Welcome back, are you here to stay for a while?

Mohammad, what a title and what shot. Surely they could havce found a "safger" place to get friendly.
Great shoot and great POV. Love the colour and the composition.
On TN you don't need to know everything about what you shoot, that's almost impossible. Just a note about where you took the shot or the circumstances is good enough.
Your English is fine.
Lyanna has given you a name for your weevil, so you should now update the note.
Keep posting and TFS.

I will add my big welcome back to TN, with pictures like this you are most welcome. these weevils are well seen, and I love the texture ofthe flower head which looks like an Echinops of some sort.
the only very small thing that could be improved for me would be the DOF (depth of field/focus) which is a fraction short IMO. I think 1 stop higher F6.3 / F7.1 may have got the surounding spikes of the flower in focus too, but also still kept the BG nicely out of focus still.
TFS yours Robert

Hello Mohammad

Great macro. Wonderful sharp focus and clear details. Do you remember the song 'Love Hurts', on this bed of nails, I am sure it is a suitable song. Awesome out of focus background. Nice work. Thanks.

See Mohammad, we learn such a lot at TN, all about the bugs and plants, among other things! And I like Pam's (Coasties) comment - "Love hurts!"
Good capture, colours and details, funny pose, and so good to see you here my friend.
Regards, Janice

Hi Mohammad,

This is a fantastic photo! I think the composition with the off-centered flower and the two beetles on top of it is very strong. The BG is perfect and the details are sharp. I also love the fact that most surrounding colors are pretty desaturated because that way the yellow of the beetles stands out amazingly well. This is a nice picture and I like it a lot. Keep 'em coming! Well done & TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Very nice picture, Mohammad. I agree with cafecrem in that I too like the pose a lot. ;)

Welcome back Mohammad.
This one is really funny - the Fakir Beed:-). The colours are very good and I like the composition very much. It is a little soft in focus on the male but all over a very pleasant picture to look at. I have never seen these beetles before - I don't think we have them here in Denmark.

Hello Mohammad!
First of all, thank you for the great critic you made on my skipper. I saw your photos on TE and TL. Let me say that you have some skills too!

Personal assessment of the photo: excellent.
Strong visual impact.
Aptness of the photo for the site: excellent.
Personal assessment of the note: complete.
Thank you for sharing so beautifull pictures and for the enjoyment which they give us.
Have a good Sunday!

These weevils seems to like to pose for, emm, shots in action! I caught two of them too, on a more or less spikey bed... Heh.

Great sharpness and Background blur!

Cheers
Sam

Very well spotted Mohammad, nice details with effective DOF. Composition is very pleasing also. Nice work.
