[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There are five species of the genus Rhododendron (ERICALES: ERICACEAE) in Turkiye, plus some hybrid forms.
- Rhododendron luteum,
- Rhododendron ungernii,
- Rhododendron smirnovii,
- Rhododendron caucasium,
- Rhododendron ponticum.

Of these, perennial Rhododendron caucasicum -Beyaz Ormangülü [TR] has been known from Artvin, Erzurum, Kars, Rize, and Trabzon provinces in Northeastern Turkiye. The plant also ranges in the Caucasus. It prefers altitudes of 1830-3000 m. Its flowering time is May to July.
As for etymology (derivatio nominis), Rhododendron came from the Greek: rhodos, "rose", and dendron, "tree"). caucasicum is already refers its distribution area.

Dedications to my dear friend from Malaysia, Foozi Saad (foozi), who is uploaded another species of the genus, becoming a neighbour.

I like your flower-pictures a lot. They always have so fine colors and are well presented. Beautiful Rhododendron caucasium with its immaculate color. Very pleasing green background, perfect complement to the white flowers.

So simple and basic, yet so beautiful and striking. The different colours of this flower great to look at and a feast to the eye, especially the anthers that looks like tiny goldens balls.
