[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello, I'm back after some weeks of absence - for technical problems, as our computer completely crashed down. We had to bring to my uncle for repair, and in the meanwhile we had to use our old grand-pa (still working, but no Photoshop or any other PP software, and quite slow). I had given up on photography for a while, but now the new computer is back, Photoshop is back, and I can post the pictures I had prepared before it crashed down.

Here is the Mont Blanc, the highest peak of the Alps. The picture was taken on the only day where we could actually see the Mont Blanc ; all the other days, the peak was hidden in thick fog or clouds.
We were hikingup to the Green Lake when we saw this panorama on our way.

With 4810 m, the Mont Blanc is the highest mountain of the Alps and the 6th highest of Europe. It is located on the France/Italy border, on south of Chamonix (the city where we have stayed during our trip in the Alps). From the top to mid-height, it is covered with eternal snow (15 to 23 m thick). At the top, wind can reach 150 km/h and temperatures go down to -40°C, and weather conditions can change very very quickly.

We went up to the station "Aiguille du Midi" with telepheric, the day after I took this picture - the fog was so dense and thick we barely saw what was stading two meters in front of us. We saw none of the wonderful panoramas we have heard so much about, and it's a real pity, because I would have loved to take some pictures up there.

I hope you like it !

Hello Valérie,
Nice to see you back in action on TN!
A superb alpine view, the strong sunlight being well managed in this fine composition. The FG tree-top and the forested slope provide excellent depth and perspective.
Thanks and have a good weekend,

Bonsoir Valérie!

Merci pour cette belle image du Mt. Blanc.

Buen Domingo: Josep Ignasi.

Hello Valerie,

An excellent and breathtaking capture of Mont Blanc with beautiful scenery & details. Great POV & composition.

Well done...et merci beaucoup!

welcome back Valerie
with this imposing scene, with the light stresses the white snow, fine your composition and marvellous her output!
TFS thanks for sharing

Dear Valerie,
Nice to see you back - save and sound - and your computer back in working order!
You beautifully counterbalanced the imposing mountain and blue sky with the tree in the left bottom corner and some more to the right! It highlights to the viewer the incredible variety of blues in the sky!
Actually, clouds enhance the mountains - particularly - when they start falling over the top, as you captured so skillfully in detail.
I also like the different shades of green forest - sloping from 9 o'clock in the photo down to 4 o'clock - giving the image a restful atmosphere.

A beautiful picture of beautiful scenery in the French Alps.

I wish you a good week,
Warm Regards

Hi Valerie.
Thanks for so nice presentation of the famous peak. I have never see it and will never visit it in the future. That is why I watch your picture with great interesting and pleasure. Excellent exposure and reproduction of the clouds, snowy slopes. Shapes of the mountains are also impressive. Thanks a lot and kind wishes to you and your PC :).

une excellente photo de cette montagne majestueuse,
excellent POV et j'aimes de la façon dont

avec une belle lumière et excellent contraste,

Bonjour Valerie,
It took me a while to find you on TN :-)

I knew I would find in your portfolio photos of the Alps...

I start with this one for my theme "High Altitude"

This is a different view from the onesI am used to, the Swiss and the Italian side.
It is a beautiful day - you were lucky - and the few clouds add interest.

As previously you still have a gentle hand when you are editing:-)
I love the natural colours.
Thanks for sharing and I add you to my favorites.
