Sicus ferrugineus (Linnaeus, 1761)

Sicus ferrugineus is a strange-looking species of fly. These flies lay their eggs on bumble bees. Their larvae are endoparasites of bumble bees of the genus Bombus. It is common throughout much of Europe. |

Hi Catherine. Yes this is a little strange looking. But i must say you have taken a first class close up of this colourful fly. Your use of the light has given fine detail and bright colours. well taken TFS.
