[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
hello friends, today i present you
this photo of the American Goldfinch

from All About Birds website :

http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/American_Goldfinch/lifehistory

« Goldfinches are among the strictest
vegetarians in the bird world, selecting an
entirely vegetable diet and only inadvertently
swallowing an occasional insect.

When Brown-headed Cowbirds lay eggs
in an American Goldfinch nest, the cowbird
egg may hatch but the nestling seldom survives
longer than three days. The cowbird chick simply
can’t survive on the all-seed diet that goldfinches
feed their young. »

Merci

Asbed

Hello Asbed,

Excellent capture, I think the pose of the bird is the adopted when amending the aerodynamics to slow. It may very well appreciate all the details of position of the wings and tail. Good work, thanks for sharing!

Sometimes I think you have these birds on beck and call.Amazing work for that gear. I have a photographer who does work for my online newspaper and lives in BC...He has similar camera. I should send him some of your images..maybe he can learn something!

Hi Asbed,

This is awesome capture of teh goldfinch showing nice wing span. PoV is also nice. The sharpness can be improved a bit. I was reading one article in which the author has mentioned about the ISO settings. He mentioned that if you reduce teh ISO to minimum (80) you will get minimum noise in teh picture. I was trying that out. I think you can also try and see if that improves the noise from teh picture.

But overall its amazing capture. When I try catching flying bird in my lense, I always have a problem of handshak / blurring. You are master in these kind of shots as I don't see any in your flying bird seriese. Great work.

TFS,
Kedar

Bonjour Asbed,

Lre flou de l'arričre-plan met en évidence l'oiseau. la prise de vue perjet de voir les détails et les couleurs du chardonneret jaune en vol. Le sujet est bien cadré. La luminosité a un bel effet sur les couleurs. Bonne journée.
