[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a pair of Mara at Whipsnade zoo. They look like a cross between a hare and a deer. They roam about Whipsnade park freely. This funny scene appeared to me as I was walking past one of the paddocks. I snapped quickly without checking my camera, and the picture was almost completely black due to the fast shutter speed I'd left set from a previous shot. (See workshop) Luckily I was able to rescue it during RAW conversion. RAW virgins take note! :)

Thanks for looking!

p.s. I've posted the original result as a workshop.

Bonjour Andy, curieuse scéne avec de bien étranges sujet !! Super composition, je ne connais pas ces animaux. Mes félicitations Didier.

Hi Andy,
It is a photograph very amusing and interesting. The colors are natural and the composition is excellent. I already saw this animal but I do not know any more which country it is originating. I will post his name if I find it. With less than meanwhile one of our eminent members found it! Beautiful work.
TFS, cordially,
Jean-Patrick

Good timing Andy! This is a funny pose. This picture has the same crisp & clear look as your rino picture. What method do you use to sharpen your picture? Colors look very real and the details are sharp. Well done & TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Very funny picture, Andy. Sharp details and good capture of the moment. Interesting-looking animals. Could they be wallabies?

Fantastic capture Andy,
Well saved from the files too. I'm pleased to say that I can help with the ID of these funny looking animals. It is the Mara. I posted a portrait of one a few months back, and had quite a task with the ID.
Here is a link to my post with Information about the Mara.

Very well captured, thanks for posting.

Heheheh, funny picture ! I love his pose, and the way he's looking at you ! Your timing was perfect. Good composition and good colors for this beautidul photo of an unusual and often unknown animal.
Valerie.
