It took a wee while since the last posting (you kept us waiting for a whole month), but
all is forgiven with this fabulous shot (chuckle). You're talking about "in spite of your
abrupt departure", but I think perhaps you shouldn't see your brief Sabbatical in that
light. TrekNature is in you blood my friend and you will not be able to divorce yourself
completely from it. Yes, you might go a wandering for fleeting periods, but in the end
you will know this is where home is after all you said it, "home is where the heart is".
This is the place where you always could find fulfilment in your beloved hobby and it
is the place where your tracks lies deep and sure. Through the years and through the
ups and the downs you have made good friends on the site and that wonderful magnet
will always draw you back. Sorry, I didn't want to get too personal, but you know where
my heart is.
A wonderful and blessed Christmas to you, Mary and the rest of your beloved family.
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is
Take care MF and see you in 2010.

Kia ora my friend
Good to see you Howard - and it's lovely to see one of your beautiful neighbours, and with the autumn colours splashing in the BG.
You are heading for the colder weather and we're into summer now - but I won't complain about the heat.
All my best to you and Mary, and I'll quote Loot's scripture for you too:
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."
Amen to that
Love from Janice

May I say welcome home, and thank you for visiting. I agree with your statement "Home is where the heart is", as I feel the same about the Trek Nature site and all the members as part of my family. May I too wish you and Mary a very Merry Christmas and may 2010 be the year that all your dreams, resolutions and all other unspoken wishes come true.
You could not have used a better subject as this lovely antelope with it beautiful, innocent eyes that sends out a message of peace and goodwill for this festive season. The pose, the composition and the surrounding in which you have captured it is great. May you be blessed. Best regards.

I'm a little late to wish merry Christmas and so, but better later than never, so I wish You & Your loved ones a peaceful and productive 2010.
I'm glad You partly returned, You sometimes post new photos and You still think about TN as "home". We also think and see You as one of the most important persons / photographers of the community (in spite of Your abrupt departure), who has great technical skills, fantastic photos and useful advices in his critiques... so this is the season of hope for us, too, that You'll return to TN, maybe fully again.
About Your photo: I choose it as one of my favorite images. It tells more than my words.
Tfs, friendly regards from Hungary, László

being totally out of time, I noticed right now that I haven't commented this very touching and beautiful contribution of yours yet.
I would not mention now all those artistic and technical standards being on the highest level here as with so many of your valuable contributions to this site over the years. It is the noble and thoughful style of how you have commented your abrupt departure from TN.
A departure that still is very much regretted by so many of us here.
The main reason why I didn't respond to your posting any earlier: I have become a rare guest on this site myself, and obviously for different reasons than you: With me, it has just been the need to drastically reduce the portion of my free time spent in front of a computer. This is caused by a heavy workload in my job, some problems with my neck and my shoulders, and the decision to spend as much time as possible either outside in nature, or spending it with my family or friends nearby. It has nothing to do with any bad feelings against TN - I am still very grateful it exists as a place of sharing inspiring observations of nature, and I am happy to visit it every now and then.
I am touched by those words in your notes that also you are still thinking of TN as your home.
With thanks, and all my best wishes to you,
