friend of silence
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Another capture taken from the walk in the woods near my house during a recent snowstorm. I have always loved the silence found in the woods when it is snowing. I told my wife that when I pass on, she may be able to sense my spirit in a setting such as this... if as spirits we may, at times, frequent places here on earth. :)|
"Who comes here, to this whiteness, this far and frozen place, in search of something he cannot name? Not wealth, it may be, but a fortune of the spirit, a freshness denied him in the place he came from." - John Haines
"The universe is full of magical things patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper." - Eden Phillpots
"We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence." - Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Taken during a snowstorm, hand-held, auto everything, somewhat extended 12X zoom, some PP work to appease the inner eye and allow me to show just what my inner eye captured.

Hi Larry, what a fantastic atmosphere inside your pic...i like a lot the forest on the snow...your pic is so true that i can hear the silence and the cold wind on my face.Fantastic!!! My best compliments, have a nice day,Luciano
Good seeing you Larry. I miss your shots with nature and a note. there is something about it that makes us all humble....we are all photographers in some sense of the word, but to combine the notes and thoughts with the image in a positive and not forceful way is beyond reproach. We must certain work together at another time...
Your Friend in His Name

I love seeing scenes through your "inner eye." I have always been enchanted by the silence during a snow storm. In fact, this looks like an Enchanted Forest. A wonderful black and white shot framed so nicely by the big trees.
