A successful in-flight photography. Great timing, composition, POV and DOF.
Greetings and TFS.

hello Howard

beautiful photo of these lovers with fine POV to show the action,
fine focus sharpness and details, the 2 flowers on the image
are ery beautiful and acting high to render the photo more beautiful,
i love the way the background it is blurred with showing details,

last spring i did an photo of red-winged blackbirds
the male in hot pursuit to the female over the pond,
i will only post in Valentine's Day and i will take
the same title as you, before that my title was to be
« lovers in-flight » but your title is more appropriate
the male wanted the female and she did not want him,
he was in hot pursuit, the photo is shot from far,

hi Howard
A real pleasure to see this réalisaion, fantastic colors and a light. The composition is also brilliant with one against dive and flower ideally placed altogether, with which color complements itself.

Hi Howard

Good golly, did you cut those butterflies and the flower from a National Geographic
photo and pasted it over your grey BG (chuckle)? Awesome MF, purely awesome.
How do one gossip about this one? You are making it very difficult for the critiquer.
The English (sorry American) language has a limited number of descriptive praises
to deal with a situation such as this. Whatever I try to say about this image will not
do any realjustice to its worth. Anyway, I am sure you already know that. When you
posted this one you quietly must have thought: "Well, this ought to get that bunch
of Trekkies gawking". It is simply impeccable on all technical counts.

Brilliant work Mr. Central Texas garden photographer of the year.

Well done MF and TFS.

PS. Congratulations with this winning shot at the Nature Photographers Network 2009.

Hello Howard,
I remember viewing a shot of yours from long ago of a butterfly flying over a flower, which made a big impression on me. Now you come along and post a shot like this that is absolutely astounding!!! I spent hours this summer trying to capture an image like that first one you posted, with no luck at all. Congratulations on this winning photo!!

Hello Howard,

A fantastic capture with such beautiful colors, timing & dexterity. Very well taken, composed & presented.

Great work Howard & best wishes.

Hallo Howard
Stunning macro. Fantastic colours. Excellent details. Spot-on focus. Perfect moment captured. Nature at work - peaceful and serene. What more can I say? Really a pleasure to look at a master photographers work. It definitely deserves all the praises it receives and more. A definite PPP – Pretty, perfect, picture. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards.

Wonderful timing. Excellent focusing.
The "DETAILS" are presented most beautifully. Sharp too.
f/90,1/1000.... I'll have to rember that one....makes the B/G blurry. Like that.
Mario with friendly greetings from Canada.

A fantastic macro, my friend...one of those that made me want to learn and study more when i first came here to TN.
Terrific timing, wonderful pin-sharp details and great fill-in lighting.
Congratulations for the well earned award!

Bravo, TFS and a belated but very sincere Happy New Year!

Gorgeous capture Howard! Most people, even myself wait for an opportunity for that nice shot of just 1 butterfly but to capture 2 in the same frame as beautifully as this is a rare sight to behold. I'm always amazed at your persistence and patience to snap these fantastic momments. Well done.

Hello Howard,
A superb action shot of two Giant Swallowtails feeding, a real winner that deserves all the credit. The OOF grey fencing BG provided a fine contrast to this technically and esthetically top grade shot.
Nice to view and TFS it my friend,

Ciao Howard, I missed this fantastic couple, amazing capture of in-flight buterfly, wonderful colors, splendid sharpness, great blurry BG, superb macro, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hi MF Howard,
Absolutely fantastic image of You again, stunning colors, perfect timing, nice simple background, second-to-none sharpness. The case when talent meets technique... Breathtaking.
Friendly regards, László

Hello Howard,
phantastic work, unbelievable! Such a perfect combination of a pair of tack sharply focussed swallowtails - one of them even in flight, delightfully composed within a perfect setting of gradually soft flowers. Concentrating on just a few elements, focus perfectly on hot spots in a very artistic, extremely elegant composition. A wonderful work, very inspiring!
A pleasure to see you here on TN again! Will make me look in here more frequently that I did in the last few monsths. Thank you!
With best regards,
