More colored for a change:

The no-english-name weevil is Phyllobius glaucus (Scopoli, 1763; Coleoptera; Curculionidae). It is 10 mm long. I found it (as usual with me) in my backyard.

ID: there are many species of Phyllobius and there is a similar genus, Polydrosus. The latter genus is chiefly separated by a clear cut black antennal groove towards the eye. I cannot be sure to have hit on the right species. My best source of inspiration was www.koleopterologie.de/gallery/index.html.
The members of the genus Phyllobius are known to have green scales and to sit on leaves of herbs, bushes or trees. The larvae live in the soil.

Hallo Dietrich
A delightful image with pleasant details to admire and observe. The features of this backyard visitor are really impressive and well photographed. The green leaf it is resting on emphasizes the insect’s details to its best. I just love the size of the big black eye, and the bit of metallic green seen on its thorax. Great macro Thanks for sharing.
Best regards.
Anna

Hallo Dieter!

Hi Dietrich,
A magnificent image. This insect is very well played.
Nice POV that allows us to see more details.
Have a quiet day,

Hi MF Dietrich,

Amazing post. Such a fine opportunity you got to take this photo, good use of the focal length to get this close. The DOF looks like it has worked wonders too. The colours look nice and eye-catching, and the details look extremely sharp from where I'm sitting. Impressive capture MF!
TFS and have a nice WE!
Cheers,

Bayram
