Paradise Lily
Weisse Trichterlilie, Paradieslilie
Lis des Alpes

Class: Liliopsidae
Family: Asparagaceae
Genus: Paradisea

Size: 30-50cm, flower: 3-5cm
Blossom: June-July
Distribution:South,Central and Western Alps, alitude 800-2500m
Habitat: Sunny grasslands

The Paradise Lily is one of my favourite flowers and I have the chance to see them on my alpine meadow. The little bee was very busy to visit the fine white flowers.
The composition of the picture might seem a little bit special, but I made this choice to show some more of the flowers around, even if the one on the top is cut a little bit.

Hi Anne,
pure white presentation of these flowers. Very beautifully captured with the movement of the bee well frozen.

Excellent details of the bee, the hairs and stripes are very pin sharp.
I like looking at the dark stamen against the white petals.
nice contrast.

The Bee has been captured in sharp details at 1/800 and that too while it hovers, Anne. Along with the white Lily flowers, it makes a lovely composition.
Thanks for sharing this picture from the summer time. Here in north India too, the weather is gloomy with fog and chill.

hello Anne

Hi Anne. A beautiful close up from the summer of last year. I look foward to the spring again. You were able to take this Bee wit hfine detail while feeding on the Paradise Lily. You have sharp focusing in both and natural colours. Nice to see on a wet dull night. TFs.

Grazie e coimplimenti
Buona serata e buona domenica
Con amicizia

Bonjour Anne,
C'est avant tout une excellente maitrise des hautes lumières sous une très bonne profondeur de champ.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.

Dear friend,

You uploaded so many wonderful photos while I was away - it was not easy to make a choice.

I think, what attracted me first to this image are the "clean lines" of the lilies. Memories of young girls decorating in May the statues of Maria in Catholic Churches.

Your visitor appears to start a new round of collecting pollen - the face is still shiny and not yet dusted, clearly visible thanks to the high speed and sharp focus.

I do like the limited depth of field, concentrating on the two flowers in the foreground and the third one at two o'clock in the picture.

I thank you for bringing into my dustry, dry library the fresh air from the Wallis.

Have a nice evening,
Herzliche Gruesse
