|White-Vented Myna (Javan Myna)|
Size: 25 cm
Note black plumage with yellow bill, long crest and white vent. Patch in wing more visible in flight.
A variety of harsh chattering notes.
An open country species found in fields, villages and cities; also in open woodlands and forest edges, but never in closed forest. Javan sub-species (with shorter vent) has established itself as by far the most numerous bird in Singapore, outnumbering the indigenous Common Myna and expanding north into Malaysia. Omnivorous; sometimes feed on fruits high in the treetops and sometimes on antsin the grass below. It nests in cavities and congregates in massive roosting flocks in the evening.
By far the most common resident and most successful breeder throughout the island. It adapted well in most environments.

A brilliant light, and a sharpness that makes the image almost a naked eye view. Good job! TFS, Regards,
