Hello,

Today, 15th of March is a national feast in Hungary, the anniversary of the Revolution and Freedom War (1848). On this beautiful day I'd like to share a "hungaricum", an endemic Carpathian plant with You which contains our country in its scientific name. So, please have a look on Sesleria heufleriana ssp. hungarica.

I only found info about this endemic subspecies in Hungarian on the net, but about the species generally You can read here.

The subspecies isn't rare in a few places in the Hungarian mountains, mostly on South / South-Eastern sides of limestone rocks. Photographed here.

To those interested in botany more: the vegetation complex where this species is living in (Diantho-Seslerietum) partly got its name from this genus. It has high species diversity: semi-dry grassland, forming a mosaic with islands of stonesteppes and meadowsteppes as well as with mixed oak forests; numerous floristic rarities.

Thanx for stopping by and commenting this photo of a Carpathian endemism.

Ciao Ladislao,
Grazie e complimenti
Buona giornata
Ciao Maurizio

Ciao Lazlo. Good the low POV wit one focused flower and the OOF environment. Good anniversary for Ungary!

Hi Vladyslav.
My heartfelt congratulations to you and Hungary people on Anniversary of the Revolution and Freedom War. I hope such dramatic events left only in History. Thanks for nice spring scene. We are in waiting for such weather and season. Great combination of subject and BG, details of the dry plants and nice smoothness.
Warm greetings and TFS.
Alexei.

Hello Laszlo,
Simple and fine..I like your pictures which integrate the surrounding landscape. A discreet, but fine endemic plant of your country. I love the pastel-colors of the shot a lot.
Well done!
Kind regards
Anne

Hey Hormon friend...
An interesting photo to commemorate a date in your country. I like the approach in the photo. You already had its touch of the artist in 2008. Good work, interesting paper. Greetings and happy week.

Hello Laszlo,
A very nice capture of this beautiful grass endemic to Hungary. I like the low POV and the beautiful background. I like grasses but they're often hard to identify.
Many thanks and regards, Ulla
