The silhoutte of Mt.Mayon, known as the perfectly coned shaped volcano. This one is still active and still poses threat to the locals in this area.
Last december 2009 , once again this volcano showed its menacing power forcing the scientists here in our country to raise alert level up to 4 in albay and legaspi city here in Bicol province. Scientists detected 453 volcanic earthquakes in a five-hour span last Dec 20, 2009, compared to just over 200 last Dec 19, 2009, said by the chief of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology. Powerful booms emanating from the volcano, can be heard up to 12 km (7.5 miles) away, and continued lava flows all contributed to the raised alert level.
We were just staring at the TV watching the news and praying for the families who are greatly affected by the sudden erruption of mt. mayon.
