Hello Rick
Hahaha I got a good chuckle out of this one.It reminded me of the time I was attacked by a Ruffed Grouse and I ran away screaming like a school girl until my brain caught up with my limbic system and overrode the fear mechanism.
Great shot of this character ,you will never forget this one.
Excellent sharpness and detail.

You must have been reading my mind....
That is a hilarious story Rick...I'm having a good chuckle. The look on this Muskrats face is priceless, maybe he's laughing inside too..... trying to get the threads out of his teeth. hee hee Excellent capture Rick, story and all. I think this day will be remembered fondly by both you and the Muskrat...hee hee.

Hi Rick, heck of an encounter and it is funny because nothing bad happened to you, imagine an animal so small being so aggressive and bold! The details are very good and the colour is natural and that surely can't be easy with the weight of that lens assuming you took this image hand held.I like this image and so far I have yet to see any muskrats here where I live this year so this is a treat. Thanks for giving us this view. Hi Rick,
Great shot of your "attacker". He looks like he's poised for a crotch jump. :) Nice details and colours. I've often wondered just how close to get to muskrats. Last year, I saw them often at Frank Lake and Red Deer Lake. I was within six feet of one at Red Deer Lake once. He seemed to be too busy to pay any attention to me. TFS.
Regards,
John

Hi Rick , nice photo of this Muskrat , not often that I see these dry , though I did see one wandering past our local seven eleven which surprised me to no end, after your story about this encounter I am glad I did not try to approach that one I wouldn't have know I would need to guard my privates LOL :-D
I imagine there are more than a few of these little critters looking for a wet pond to live , it has been pretty dry so far this year...
thanks for sharing , and the chuckle ;-)
regards

Hi Rick.
I did not imagine the behavior of this species. Wonderful and deductive story (and funny for a detached onlooker). I like how well your have reflected the state of mood of the cute animal and aggressive pose. Surroundings are lovely, natural and reproduced perfectly too. Best wishes and TFS.
Alexei.

Hello Rick,
In my neighbourhood they bring on a lot of damage to the dikes here. So there are special people who try to catch these animals. The result is that they are shy. I didn't know that they are so aggressive.
Beautiful photo in good sharpness and natural colours. Mean little eyes.
Regards,
Peter

Hi Rick
That sound like a great adventure but could have been worst you could have been facing a lion in a safari. That is an excellent closed up .Pin sharp image whit oustanding fur detail.I also like the eye's contact. So it was worth it

Hola Rick.
I'm still laughing from reading your written notice. On very rare occasions the women have reason and men must obey.
Great photo. Interesting note.

Man oh man... Rick,
This is no joke!!! It could give you rabies.
Am glad you are well except the loss of your eyeware.
Yes, this type of imagery taking is fun.
Never had anything closely similar happen to me. A mother Canada goose "hissed" at me; that's all. She said " Not any closer".
GREAT PIECE OF PHOTOGRAPHY!!!
Mario buried in snow.... should melt soon we hope.
