A lovely sharp photo of this teasel head, Christian. The heads are very prickly, but the flowers and seeds are, as you said, so good for wildlife.
Maybe you might like to know where the English name comes from: Dried teasel flowers have been used since Roman times to comb fabric made from wool, raising a soft, even nap in a process known as fulling.
Have a great weekend, Amelia

László aus Ungarn here. Surprisingly good photo with a mobile phone camera, beautiful lights, sharpness and monochromatic color tones. Pleasant view, but if I can give an advice, repeat the pic (whenever it's possible) from a few more centimeters far from the closer flower, in this case You won't crop any serious part (now the top) of the latter plant, and the result becomes more effective. Nevertheless, the choice of main and complementer subjects are brilliant.
Danke schön, best regards, László
